Kirsti is a highly experienced and client-focused occupational therapist with extensive experience in practice across clinical, community, medico-legal and workplace rehabilitation settings. Her work is underpinned by a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, combined with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals to achieve meaningful participation in their daily lives.

Kirsti’s postgraduate research focused on the development and validation of an assessment tool measuring independence in public transport use, which has been instrumental in informing service delivery for individuals with mobility challenges. She provides early intervention and return-to-work services for clients with diverse injuries and conditions. Her work includes functional capacity evaluations, worksite assessments, ergonomic and pre-employment assessments, activities of daily living (ADL) assessments, and delivery of innovative pain education through virtual reality modules.

A broad international career and experience spanning roles in spinal cord injury and neurorehabilitation, complex seating and mobility, hydrotherapy and mental health in which she has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors, including with medico-legal clients, tertiary hospitals, and local government tenders further contributes to her holistic, culturally responsive approach to occupational therapy.

A commitment to lifelong learning has seen the completion of extensive professional development in areas such as quantitative research methodology, neurodevelopmental techniques, psychometrics, and advanced rehabilitation strategies.

Her clinical expertise, research background, and dedication to client-centred care make her a valuable contributor to any interdisciplinary team, especially in complex rehabilitation and vocational settings.
